Richards Review The China Syndrome

The China Syndrome was a dramatic movie that came out in 1979.  It was a film that was timely because twelve days prio to its premier the Three Mile incident in Pennsylvania took place.

In the movie Jack Lemon (Jack Godell) discovers that there are dangers at the nuclear power plant that are being ignored by those in power, he goes to the press to reveal this and Jane Fonda (reporter Kimberly Wells) and a bearded Michael Douglas (as cameraman Richard Adams) eventually come to the plant to interview Godell.

All the time the powers that control the station are working to keep the interview from happening.

The tension continues to mount and it comes to an ending that has to be seen, I will not give it away.

Jack Lemon is powerful as a man who is forced to take the action he does, he has found that their is a leak of nuclear waste at the base of a pump, he brings this evidence to the managers and they say that the issue was dealt with.  Lemon trys to prove that the  situation is current.

Fonda and Douglas confront Lemmon at his home, he speaks his concern and they tell him he should testify at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission concerning his concerns.

Before Lemon can do so he is pursued and he takes refuge at the plant where the final conflict takes place.  As I said before I will not give away the ending .

To see this film tune into Movies TV Network.
